Developing an Optimized Maya Plugin Using CUDA and OpenGL

Autodesk Maya is the leading VFX content-creation tool used by studios around the world. This talk will conclude the sessions by guiding you through the development of a real application: a custom Maya plug-in that showcases the computation and visualization of real-time fluid-dynamics by leveraging OpenGL and the CUDA inter-operability API. This talk does not focus on the mathematics of fluid-dynamics, but instead highlights the practicalities of how to architect code that will co-exist within another application which already uses graphics extensively. It is also a useful guide for anyone developing CUDA code that needs to fit inside a plug-in framework.
