Online registration for SIGGRAPH 2014 is now open!
The SIGGRAPH conference, held annually since 1974, is a five-day interdisciplinary experience for students and professionals in the fields of computer graphics and interactive technology. The conference is widely recognized as the most prestigious forum for the publication of computer graphics research. In addition to a leading-edge technical program, SIGGRAPH offers installations that provide close-up views of the latest in digital art, emerging technologies and opportunities for creative collaboration.
The SIGGRAPH conference is also host to the international SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival, which showcases works from the world's most innovative and accomplished digital film and video creators.
SIGGRAPH 2014, the 41st International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, will take place in Vancouver, Canada, from August 10 to 14.
In the words of a recent SIGGRAPH attendee: "Think of everything that has ever made you geek out and feel so passionate about something in your whole life and put it into one feeling… that, my friend, is the feeling you get when being at SIGGRAPH." If you're still not convinced, here are 6 reasons to attend SIGGRAPH 2014.
Once you register for the conference, be sure to reserve your hotel room. The harbor near the Vancouver Convention Centre offers magnificent views for many of the area hotels — but the early bird gets the worm. SIGGRAPH 2014 has negotiated reduced rates at Vancouver hotels for the duration of the conference, but reservations made after July 14 are subject to availability.
Some attendees may require a visa to visit Canada. The ACM SIGGRAPH International Resources Committee has created a handy tool to help SIGGRAPH attendees determine if they need a visa.
Looking for something to keep you occupied until the conference? Technical Papers content from SIGGRAPH 2013 and SIGGRAPH Asia 2013 is freely available to the public through the ACM SIGGRAPH website until the start of the respective 2014 events. You can also connect with ACM SIGGRAPH on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google+ and get the latest conference news direct from the SIGGRAPH 2014 Blog! See you there.
