SIGGRAPH 2008 marks the 35th annual conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques.
Imagine having the opportunity to go behind the scenes and work as an integral part of one of the largest and most exciting professional conferences on this planet. This priceless experience gives you the opportunity to meet and learn directly from industry professionals, artists, and teachers while assisting conference attendees and supporting conference programs and events. As a Student Volunteer, you have admission to all programs, receptions, and many special Student Volunteer events, including résumé and portfolio reviews, and presentations by industry heavyweights!
All of this is available to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who are enrolled full time for at least one semester during the 2007-2008 school year and are at least 18 years of age. Students can apply to work either 18 or 30 hours (approximately) during the conference. Volunteers from outside the Los Angeles area who are willing to work at least 30 hours may also receive complimentary housing in Los Angeles for the duration of the conference. In addition, all applicants are eligible to apply for Travel Assistance Awards, which offer financial help for travel to and from the conference.
The Student Volunteers of today are the industry leaders of tomorrow, and there's never been a better or more exciting time to become a Student Volunteer. I encourage you to apply! Become a part of the largest and most diverse community in computer graphics and interactive techniques. I look forward to welcoming you to SIGGRAPH 2008 in Los Angeles, and I hope you'll join us for a whole new Student Volunteer experience!
