現実の社会に存在する課題とそれに取り込む機会について考える―今存在するものを将来存在するかもしれないものに適応させることにおいて、アートとテクノロジーの飛躍的な成果が見られます。
世界が急速に進化する今、アーチストや研究者にその最前線を見せてもらいましょう。シーグラフアジア2009のアートギャラリーとエマージングテクノロジーの展示は「適応」をテーマとしています。アートギャラリーでは、最先端のデジタルメディア技術を駆使した作品から、技術社会に疑問を投げかけるような作品まで、多様で国際的なアートが展示されます。
Miniverse2
Working in several different meida with a number of collaborators around the world, New York-based Swiss artist Katja Loher explores language and visual form together in an assemblage of technologies and dramatic sculptures. She creates a powerful visual platform that pulls viewers out of their current perspectives and reveals a broader view of existential questions and present concerns in the world. Miniverse2 presents a bird's-eye view of people in minimalist uniforms performing a structured choreography. The ball displays scenes in which workers become part of a synchronized movement as they perform tasks that must be done 24 hours a day to keep nature balanced and to allow humanity to survive on our planet in our current numbers. For example, one group of workers attends the work of bees to ensure that they pollinate the flowers.
