Ko Hyeong-Seok
Seoul National University
Hyeong-Seok Ko has been an active member of ACM SIGGRAPH for many years and has been a member of the ACM Advisory Board since 2007. His research interests include clothing simulation and animation, hairstyle modeling and animation, physics-based reproduction of fluids, Heand deformable solids. Ko has organized courses on clothing simulation for SIGGRAPH 2003 and 2005.

He holds a PhD in computer graphics from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently a professor in the School of Electrical Engineering of the Seoul National University. He is also director of the university's Digital Clothing Center. He has published many technical articles and is currently a member of the editorial board of Graphical Models, an international bi-monthly journal published by Elsevier.

Jinny HyeJin Choo
ONCOMM & Korea National University of Arts (K'ARTS)
Jinny HyeJin Choo is a researcher and instructor at Korea National University of Arts(K’ARTS) and the programming director at ONCOMM. She majored in Illustration and animation and made her first short animated film in 1999, when she began her career as a freelance illustrator and animation artist. She has worked for several animated film festivals, including SICAF and PISAF in Korea, as programmer and manager and has contributed articles to animation magazines. At present, she is lecturing and doing research in animation and related fields at Korea National University of Arts and training to be a color therapist at Korea Color Psychical Therapy Society.

Sophie Revillard
Connecting Worlds
Looking for a way to combine a curriculum in history, a master in interactive techniques, and an early passion for cinema and graphic arts, Sophie Revillard decided in 1995 to turn the most famous French monument into a game: "Versailles, Complot à la Cour du Roi soleil" (Cryo Interactive). She was then adopted by the interactive entertainment industry and has since designed numerous games and interactive projects in both cultural and educative areas. She has also contributed to the organization of several world-class events dedicated to 3D and interactive techniques such as Imagina, FMX, FITA, and SIGGRAPH.

Currently, she manages Connecting Worlds, an agency that specializes in conceiving innovative experiences and content for cultural exhibitions, education, sustainability, serious games, and, of course, recreational games.

David Spoelstra
MediaMachine LLC
For 28 years, David Spoelstra has created hardware and software products, managed technology projects and people, and led major technology initiatives at both start-up and Fortune 500 companies. Today he is the owner of MediaMachine LLC, a technology consulting company that performs hardware and software design, project management, and technology vision initiatives with a specialty in digital video. He has been involved with several video hardware startups and served on several boards including VESA.

In 1992, while working for Truevision, the first videographics company, he first served on the SIGGRAPH conference committee as Audio/Visual and Donations Chair. Since then, he has served as a conference committee chair nine different times including the GraphicsNet Chair for the inaugural SIGGRAPH Asia conference. An avid auto racing photographer, he is in charge of turn three at the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway for The Associated Press. His work has been published multiple times in newspapers worldwide, and in Sports Illustrated, and he was awarded the World Press Association Award for Sports Photography in 1982.

Wei Keong Tan
Polygon Pictures, Inc.
Tan Wei Keong is an animation director whose works have won awards at the Singapore International Film Festival. He is currently an animator in Tokyo at Polygon Pictures, Inc. He was a member of the Student Volunteers Committee for previous SIGGRAPH Asia conferences and a team leader at SIGGRAPH 2008. He has a bachelor of fine art degree in digital animation from Nanyang Technological University.

George Drettakis
REVES/INRIA Sophia-Antipolis
George Drettakis holds a PhD from the University of Toronto (1994) in computer science and is currently a senior researcher at the French National Institute for Computer Science and Applied Math (INRIA). He held a researcher position at INRIA Grenoble in the iMAGIS research group from 1995 to 2000 then moved to INRIA Sophia-Antipolis, where he heads the REVES research group on rendering for graphics and audio. He has published many papers in graphics, in particular on global illumination, visibility, relighting, augmented reality, interactive rendering, and 3D audio. His current research interests are in combining image-based simulation and procedural methods for effective rendering, as well as the use of perceptual principles for audio/visual rendering in virtual environments.

He publishes regularly at major international conferences and journals in the field. He has coordinated several national and European Union research projects, most recently the EU FET OPEN project CROSSMOD (2005-2008). His administrative responsibilities at INRIA include membership in the Scientific and Technological Orientation Council (COST), supervising INRIA’s international activities (2005-2007), and the prospective committee for the perception, cognition, and interaction research domain. He has served on program committees for many international conferences (Eurographics, SIGGRAPH, and others), co-chaired the papers program of the Eurographics workshop on rendering (1998), co-chaired the Eurographics 2002 and 2008 conferences and served as an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics. He won the Eurographics Outstanding Technical Achievement Award in 2007 and has been a Eurographics Fellow since 2007.

Marie-Paule Cani

Marie-Paule Cani is professor of computer science at the Grenoble Institute of Technology and head of the INRIA research group EVASION, part of Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann, a joint lab of CNRS and Grenoble University. A graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure, she received a PhD from the University of Paris 11 in 1990. In 1999, she was awarded membership in the Institut Universitaire de France, and in 2007 she received the national Irène Joliot Curie award to acknowledge her support of women in computer science.

Her main research interest is creation of digital content for animated virtual worlds, which leads to developing techniques for both shape design and animation. Her contributions include algorithms for efficient physically based animation, using implicit surfaces and constant-volume space deformations in interactive sculpting systems, 3D clothing design from sketches, physically based models such as super-helices for hair animation, and design of layered models for efficiently animating natural scenes. She was general co-chair of IEEE Shape Modelling & Applications 2005 and papers co-chair of EUROGRAPHICS 2004, the ACM-EG Symposium on Computer Animation 2006, and Sketch-Based Interaction and Modelling 2008. She was a member of the editorial board of Graphical Models from 2001 to 2005 and of IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics since 2006. An active member of the French Computer Graphics association since the 1990s, she created and was the first president of the French Chapter of EUROGRAPHICS in 2003 and served on the Eurographics executive committee from 2004 to 2008. She was named a Eurographics fellow in 2005 and was elected to the position of Director at Large of ACM SIGGRAPH in 2008.

Alla Sheffer
The University of British Columbia
Alla Sheffer is an associate professor in the computer science department at The University of British Columbia. She investigates algorithms for geometry processing focusing on computer graphics applications. Her work has been published at leading conferences, including SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH Asia, Eurographics, and the Symposium on Geometry Processing. She has co-chaired the Symposium on Geometry Processing, the leading geometry-processing conference, and served on the program committees of major graphics conferences including SIGGRAPH and Eurographics.

She received her PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1999), then did a postdoc at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was an assistant professor at Technion, Israel. She is the recipient of a Killam Junior Research Fellowship (2009) and an IBM Faculty Award (2006).

Mark Billinghurst
Human Interface Technology Laboratory New Zealand
Mark Billinghurst develops innovative computer interfaces that explore how virtual and real worlds can be merged. Director of the HIT Lab New Zealand at the University of Canterbury in, he has produced over 130 technical publications and presented demonstrations and courses at a wide variety of conferences. He has a PhD from the University of Washington and conducts research in augmented and virtual reality, wearable computing, and mobile interfaces. He has previously worked at ATR Research Labs, British Telecom, and the MIT Media Laboratory. One of his research projects, the MagicBook, was winner of the 2001 Discover award for best entertainment application.

Steve Cunningham
Brown Cunningham Associates
Steve Cunningham has had a 40-year career of teaching, scholarship, and professional service. He holds an undergraduate degree from Drury College and graduate degrees from the University of Oregon and Oregon State University. He has taught at the University of Kansas, Birmingham-Southern College, and California State University Stanislaus, where he was a Gemperle Distinguished Professor. He was a program officer with the U.S. National Science Foundation and a Noyce Visiting Professor at Grinnell College.

He has served on the boards of several professional associations, including the Mathematics Association of America and ACM SIGCSE, was on the Executive Board and Executive Committee of the European Association for Computer Graphics, and held several offices in ACM SIGGRAPH including Director for Publications and Chair. He co-founded (with Judy Brown) the ACM SIGGRAPH Education Committee and founded the Eurographics Education Board. He was elected a Eurographics Fellow and received the ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Service Award.

His professional focus has been computer graphics, especially computer graphics education. He is author, co-author, or co-editor of seven books on computer graphics-related topics, including two recent textbooks, and one of his texts has been translated into Chinese. He has extensive international speaking experience, has worked on a number of conferences, and is particularly associated with a number of workshops on computer graphics education.

Jin Wan Park
Jin Wan Park is a professor of the Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film at Chung-Ang University in South Korea. He received his BS in computer science and his MFA from Pratt Institute with a computer animation and interactive media major in 1998. The same year, his animation was selected for the Electronic Theater at SIGGRAPH 98. After graduation, he worked as an art director for five years before joining the Chung-Ang University faculty. As an artist and scientist, he has focused his research on new forms of artistic expression that are only possible through scientific research. He has exhibited a series of artworks based on his algorithms in art galleries and art journals, including the SIGGRAPH 98 Electronic Theater, SIGGRAPH 2004 Sketches, Leonardo Vol. 38, the SIGGRAPH 2006 Guerilla Studio, SIGGRAPH 2006 Sketches, the SIGGRAPH 2007 Art Gallery, Japan Media Art Festival 2007, and the SIGGRAPH 2009 Art Gallery. He also manages the Future Media Art lab, which includes 20 students and researchers.

Kim Jae-Woong is a professor in the ChungAng Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science Multimedia & Film, in Seoul. He earned advanced degrees at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, Stuttgart, and the Hong-Ik Graduate School of Art. He has been a member of the jury and committee of the SICAF, an exchange professor at the Institute of Technology Berlin, the jury of the LG dong-a animation festival, the jury of the Pucheon International Student Animation Festival, the jury of the Korean pavilion in IT EXPO 2005. He has also served as chair of the education committee in cartoon animation for the Korea Art & Culture Education Service (2006)
