Home Stay Option
SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 is offering a new Home Stay Option for local and international Student Volunteers in our effort to provide an experience that bridges cultural and language differences and disciplines, and encourage networking, communication, and collaboration amongst students from all over the world.
The Home Stay Option welcomes local students to host international students at their homes during SIGGRAPH Asia 2010. International students are encouraged to consider this option.
The option is available to all Student Volunteers and is provided according to availability. Applicants must first complete the standard Student Volunteers Application. Before submitting the application, local students who wish to host international students must check the Home Stay Option. International students who wish to be considered must answer additional personal statements of no more than 300 words, as described in the application.
A local student host and an international student of the same gender will be paired. Further information on the Home Stay Option will be provided upon acceptance as a Student Volunteer.
All Student Volunteers are responsible for their own travel to and from Seoul, as well as their own meals during their time at the conference. After arriving in Seoul, Student Volunteers must meet their commitment to the program (either 15 or 25 hours) in order to remain eligible for the Home Stay Option.
