Team Leaders
To facilitate operation of the conference, a number of Student Volunteers are appointed as Team Leaders. Team Leaders manage Student Volunteers at specific conference venues and coordinate volunteer duties with SIGGRAPH Asia 2010 Committee members. This is an invaluable opportunity to share your experience and enhance Student Volunteers' performance.
Applicants for Team Leader positions must meet all Student Volunteers criteria and must have demonstrated outstanding abilities as a Student Volunteer in at least one of the four most recent SIGGRAPH or SIGGRAPH Asia conferences (SIGGRAPH 2008, SIGGRAPH 2009, SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 or SIGGRAPH Asia 2009). Team Leaders must be organized, enthusiastic, and dedicated to helping the conference run smoothly for attendees. They must be able to take initiative and solve problems in this dynamic and self-motivated role. Team Leaders must also be effective in managing large groups of people and performing under pressure. They are expected to volunteer at least 48 hours during the conference, not including orientation. All Team Leaders must attend a half-day Team Leader orientation session on Monday, 13 December 2010. They are also expected to be at the conference from Monday, 13 December 2010 through Sunday, 19 December 2010.
Team Leader Application Process
Team Leader applicants must first complete the standard Student Volunteer Application. Before they submit an application, Team Leader applicants will complete one additional section containing questions related to personal skills and experience, and are required to write one additional personal statement of no more than 300 words, as described in the application.
Team Leader Recognition
All Team Leaders receive seven nights of accommodation (Sunday, 12 December 2010 to Sunday, 19 December 2010). A minimum of two leaders of the same gender will share each hotel room. It may be necessary to place more than two per room, but every effort will be made to keep the number in each room to the minimum. Further information on housing will be provided upon an applicant's acceptance as a Team Leader.
Team Leaders will also receive additional conference materials beyond those offered to Student Volunteers.
All Team Leaders are responsible for their own travel to and from Seoul, as well as their own meals during their time at the conference. Meal vouchers are available, but they are not guaranteed.
