Interns
Now SIGGRAPH is spread throughout the Asian region. The second SIGGRAPH Asia Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques will take place in Yokohama, Japan, 16-19 December. Imagine having the opportunity to go behind the scenes and work as an integral part of one of the largest and most exciting Asian conferences on digital media. This priceless experience gives you the opportunity to meet and learn directly from industry professionals, artists, and teachers while assisting conference attendees and supporting conference programs and events. As an Intern, you have admission to all SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 programs and many special Intern events in your free time.
All of this is available to undergraduate, graduate, and vocational students (except high school) who are enrolled full time for at least one semester during the 2009-2010 school year and are at least 18 years of age. Alumni who graduated after 1 January 2006 are also eligible to apply. Being knowledgeable in the field of computer graphics and interactive techniques is an added advantage, but applicants from outside the field are also welcome.
Interns can request assignments in several areas: Attendee Registration, Operational Support, Language Support, Gallery Management Support, and a few others. This assignment system is designed to provide each intern with invaluable professional experience and deliver high-quality services to SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 attendees.
Students and alumni can apply to work either 24 or 12 hours (approximately) during the conference. Interns from outside the Yokohama area (or whose commuting time is more than two hours) who are willing to work at least 24 hours may also apply for complimentary housing in Yokohama for the duration of the conference. In addition, all applicants are eligible to apply for Travel Assistance Awards, which offer financial help for travel to and from the conference.
Become an Intern today and become an industry leader tomorrow. I hope you'll join us for a valuable Internship experience in Japan!
