Flex Your Creativity!

Animators and designers, stand a chance to win conference passes to attend SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 and the opportunity to have your stellar work featured on the front page of our website if your entries are selected!

Grab the opportunity to contribute to SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 by creatively enhancing our graphic identity! We would like you to jazz up our graphic identity - the dragon - by participating in our first competition for animated web banners. All you have to do is make the dragon come alive by flexing your animation skills and creativity, and submit your 2 best banners to us by 1 July, 2011.

Requirements
Participants must ensure the following criteria are fulfilled:
1) Must create a minimum of 2 banners in the following sizes:

Compulsory Banner	Banner Size
	960 X 185 pixels

Optional Banners *Design the second banner in one of the following listed sizes (see right column)	Banner Size
	728 x 90 pixels
	428 x 60 pixels
	300 x 250 pixels

2) Animate the dragon (click here to download)

3) Use the SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 logo (click here to download)

4) Use the official tagline of SIGGRAPH Asia 2011: Graphics. Animation. Art. Technology. Where Ideas Become Legend.

Technical Specifications
- 72 dpi
- Animated GIF or SWF, must be looped
- Animation duration to last for 1 minute
- File size should not exceed 250KB

Qualifying Period
1 June – 1 July 2011

*Last day for submissions: 1 July 2011

Judging Criteria
All submitted works will be judged based on creativity, complexity of animation, and ability to maintain the graphic identity of SIGGRAPH Asia 2011.

All submissions will be judged in an unbiased manner by the SIGGRAPH Asia committee which consists of experienced ACM SIGGRAPH leaders, distinguished animation artists, and the SIGGRAPH Asia marketing team.

Electronic Submission of Works
1) You may use any of the following file-sharing websites below to upload your submissions and must provide the file-sharing link via email to competition_asia@siggraph.org

2) Submissions must be placed in a WinZip folder

3) WinZip folder must be titled after the Full Name of the participant

*Alternatively, if you already have a server which you can upload your work to, please provide the username and password (where available) for us to download your work.

Prizes and Acknowledgment
Winners of the competition stand to win:

1) First prize: 1 x Full Conference Pass

2) Second prize: 1 x Full Conference One Day Pass

3) Third prize: 1 x Basic Conference Pass

*Participants whose works are shortlisted will have the opportunity to
have their submissions screened at the SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 booth at
SIGGRAPH Vancouver from August 9 – 12, 2011.

*The names of the winners will be announced in our e-newsletter.

*Shortlisted submissions will be featured on the SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 website and will be credited accordingly.

Rights of Use
While submitting your work to the SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 Animated Web Banner Competition, you grant ACM SIGGRAPH royalty-free, non-exclusive permission to use the materials, in their original and/or modified forms, for webcasting, conference promotion and organization publicity, and you have the necessary rights, permissions, and/or licenses to grant these rights. You retain the copyright to your work and will receive full attribution whenever the material is used.

In the event that such materials contain the work of other individuals or organizations including any software, trade secret, copyright, trademark, patents, and any other proprietary rights included therein, you understand that it is your responsibility to secure any necessary permissions and/or licenses, and you will hold ACM SIGGRAPH and its affiliates harmless for any failure to do so.
